WHAT IS CHAGA?

Chaga mushroom [3] – Inonotus obliquus – the birch loving mushroom that does not look like one, is an ancient remedy that has been valued for its many health benefits for centuries. You will find it while walking through temperate forests looking for encrusted black formations on white birch trees. Chaga absorbs all the most valuable substances of the birch, that’s why only those mushrooms have healing properties that were collected from a living tree and that's why it is impossible to grow chaga artificially and get the same rich chemical composition as wild chaga has.

HOW DOES IT GROW?

Spores of Chaga penetrate through damaged bark into core of a living birch and sprout.

Chaga grows and feeds on a birch sap, expanding its roots deep into the tree. On the 4th year, Chaga begins to break outward, forming a black outgrowth of irregular shape. This outgrowth is what we are used to call Chaga.

A massive outgrowth on the trunk appears. The size of Chaga can reach up to 50 cm in diameter and up to 20 cm in thickness. Growth can last 10-20 years. Growth can last 10-20 years.

+ Biologically Active Substances

Chaga mushroom is an adaptogen. Adaptogenic plants and mushrooms help to bring the body back into balance and have beneficial effects on the nervous system, immune system, the gastrointestinal tract, the cardiovascular system and the endocrine system.
1) Water-soluble chromogens or chromogenic complex - the main active component of Chaga. The chromogenic complex consists of phenolic aldehydes, polyphenols, oxyphenylcarboxylic acids and quinones. It has antitumor effect.
2) Polysaccharides. Antitumor and hypoglycemic activity.
3) Beta-glucans. Stimulate the work of the immune system, a powerful antioxidant.
4) Flavonoids. Antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antitumor, antioxidant, antispasmodic, choleretic action.
5) Betulic acid. Antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties. A powerful antitumor effect.
6) Agaricinic and humic-organic acids. Antitumor effect, antituberculous activity, normalize acid-base balance.
7) Organic acids: oxalic, tartaric, acetic, formic acids.
8) Pterine compounds. Antitumor effect, prevents tumor growth and the appearance of metastases. Improves the quality of life by reducing pain and increasing the body's resistance.
9) Melanin promotes stimulation of metabolic processes in the body.
10) Alkaloids have a beneficial effect on the heart muscle.

MANUFACTURING PROCESS

HARVESTING CHAGA

Experts collect Chaga in ecologically clean forests of Siberia. Controlled harvesting let this natural resource to renew in the future.

CLEANING AND SORTING

We carefully sort Chaga by size and quality for further manufacturing steps.

DRYING

Chaga slowly dries in the room with a temperature below 50 degrees Celsius. This preserves all the biologically active substances.

LABORATORY ANALYSIS

Our Chaga passes laboratory examination according to the government standards. The purpose is to confirm ecological safety and verify concentration of biologically active substances.

It involves grinding and a multi-stage process of extraction and granulation to get a tea and extract.
